Mt. Laurel Area Information

Mt. Laurel, mostly suburban in nature, also experiences the conflux of travel between Washington D.C., New York and Philadelphia, generating a lot of population growth and with it a surge in demand for recreational opportunities. With both an I-295 and New Jersey turnpike exit and only 13 miles separating it from Philadelphia, you’ll find a lively combination of arts, culture, dining and shopping in and around this suburban township.

With a rich history dating from pre-Revolutionary times, Mt. Laurel and the surrounding area also offers a host of historical sites and nationally recognized landmarks. Four locations on the Underground Railroad are located within the area as well as a number of revolutionary and civil war sites. You can visit the homes of women’s rights suffragists or a historic prison museum.
