The Adventure Aquarium is perched riverside with a breathtaking view of the Philadelphia skyline directly across the river. The exhibits are a dynamic combination of African Nile Hippos, Caribbean reef creatures and cold-water favorites penguins and seals. The aquarium offers several exciting interactive attractions. Swim, feed or pet 7ft sharks, touch endangered sea turtles and go behind the scenes to come face to face with one of Africa’s most deadly animals, the Hippo.  

Adventure Aquarium also has a 4D movie theatre featuring the groundbreaking new series Planet Earth. Spongebob Squarepants The Ride 4D is also showing. The term 4D takes movie viewing to the next level, using effects such as wind, spray and smoke to achieve an in-person type experience.

The Aquarium doesn’t limit itself to aqueous creatures alone. In the Rainforest Rendezvous visitors will have a chance to meet South American chinchillas, boa constrictors, short-tailed opossums and diamondback terrapins. Flying overhead are some of the world’s most spectacular breeds of birds, including Abdim Storks and Violet Turacos. The birds fly freely throughout the exhibit and visit one of the aquarium’s interactive centers, Feather Ridge.
